Primary Maths Challenge 2026
The 2026 Primary Maths Challenge main round takes place between 9 and 20 November 2026. It’s a fun first-round challenge for pupils aged 9‑11 (Years 5‑6), run by AMiE (the Association for Mathematics in Education).
How to prepare
Start with the video, which explains what the Primary Maths Challenge is and how to get ready. Then practise with our free Prepare for the Primary Maths Challenge course. There’s more on our main Primary Maths Challenge page.
What score do you need?
You can see the scores needed for each award on the Primary Maths Challenge grade boundaries page.
How to register
The Primary Maths Challenge is taken at school, and schools register through AMiE. Ask your child’s teacher whether the school takes part, or see the Primary Maths Challenge website for how schools can enter.
After the challenge
We’ll add the results and grade boundaries here once they’re released. Pupils who do well in the main round may be invited to the Bonus Round in February.
