UKMT Senior Maths Challenge 2024

The UKMT Junior Maths Challenge (Junior Mathematical Challenge) will take place on
Tuesday 1st October 2024.

Schools who have a timezone that is either UTC+5 or more (5 or more hours ahead of the UK) will sit the challenge on the following day.

Students usually take this paper in years 12 and 13 in England, S5 and S6 in Scotland or Years 13 and 14 in Northern Ireland, but the competition is open to entrants from younger year groups too.

Many schools overseas also enter students, but entrants must be of an equivalent age and be students at official UKMT test centres – applications from private individuals or tutors is not allowed.

I’ve collected answers to all of the most common questions I’m asked by students, parents and teachers about the Senior Maths Challenge on the page here.

It also contains links to past papers and solutions and all the past grade boundaries as well as options to prepare, so take a look now and make sure you’re in the best position for the Senior Maths Challenge in 2024!

You can also take an online course to prepare at the Mathsaurus courses website. There’s a very significant FREE course and an upgraded course as well as group and 1-1 tuition options via Zoom:
